Agree. Situations like that are crazy times and it makes for an interesting read to realize the details of the goings on at the time. When the dust settled, CLM was clearly the best choice and remains so to this day.
Spurrier is great. I would have loved to have had him, if for no other reason than we would have NEVER had to endure the previous four years of inept play at QB. Never. Having said that, Coach Miles is great too, and on the whole, outpaces even the ol' ball coach.
great insight into a process that few of us will ever witness. Also glad to hear that Petrino was never a serious contender. I am actually glad that we didn't hire Spurrier.....I think his best days are behind him.
