hmmm...i'm on the don't do it side. i agree with tiga. you're at a point where you can't convince yourself to do it, so you're asking others to help you justify it. that says you really can't justify the expense. i also agree with sugar. do something there to make the game special for you and create a new Tiger memory. if there's no one there, it would be much cheaper to go to NO for a couple days and watch it with other Tiger fans in a bar or whatever. bottom line...it's your money. you know better than anyone whether or not (a) you can afford it and (b) it's worth the expense. within yourself, the answer you seek, you will find. (and "these are not the droids you're looking for" ).
Absolutely do it this year. Are ye "daft"! I mean c'mon how many NCG's has the Tigers made it to over the last 50 years man! :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
Edyel-- I am struggling with the same situation as you. My two brothers, my wife, and I went in '03 and it was one of the most memorable trips of my life. That walk back along Poydras to the Quarter will always be etched in my mind. So many aspects of the trip could never be replicated. But now, my wife and one of my brothers can't go. I do feel an obligation to watch the game with them. Plus, I do think I was lucky last time buying tickets online. The influx of fake tickets scares me when dealing with this kind of money. So you can see that I am leaning to not going. However, I am sure I will change my mind 50 times back and forth before the game. Good luck with your decsion.
The above pretty much sums it up. It is all a matter of whether you can afford the ticket at 2K (to me I think it is a bit too much for a ticket; a ticket at, say, $500 will make the decision making process a lot easier), and not having to stretch it. Or, do you think you can put the $2K into other better uses....like a HD widescreen TV as mentioned above which was a heck of an idea. I didn't get to go to the 2003 championship ( I am glad you did!); but the sweet memory is still fresh in my mind, and always will be:thumb:
Here is an alternative idea. Take a 4-hour drive down to Nashville and watch the game with our alumni association. The bar (see website) is close to Music Row and there are hotels within staggering distance. Given: It is not Tiger Stadium or the Superdome, but we have the fans, the cheers, the music, and a VERY rowdy crowd. You will pass a good time, guaranteed!!!! Below is a link to their website. It will be updated as the game gets closer. Hope to see you there if you decide not to go to NO. http://www.lsunashville.com/news.php
Couldn't let nashville out pimp orlando! Or you could come the Disney and watch the game with the orlando alumni! There are more then enough hotel rooms in Orlando! http://www.lsuorlandeaux.com/ Plus our web site name is TOO cute!!!
Life is short...saw it 1st hand these past 2 years...We're going, it'll cost boat load, Visa will make a ton off of us...but I have no doubt it will be worth every moment.... and, most importantly, I will never have to say to myself, "I really wish I had been there..." again:grin:
LOL...man thats waaaaaaaaay too funny! I can remember a time on campus when streaking caught on in a BIG way. There were untold students (mostly coeds) who formed a rally in font of the tower if I remember correctly. It was a "hoot"! Traffic backed up so campus police had to step in and break it up. But, man...it was the best show in town that day! One of my friends called me in a panic saying something like "Get up here quick man! Theres naked women all over the place!"...Course they had to "force" me to go check it out! LOL
