that's funny tiga, I bought the same book last night at BAM in Bossier (a sidetrip from Chuck E. Cheese) for $27.90...man, I didn't realize paper had gotten so expensive. Started it last night and read some more at lunch today...I'm up to Chapter 4. A nice introspective so far and yeah not much game action but gives some good insight to some things that most of us don't have privelege of being a part and also some things we are probably a little familiar with too. I like it a lot.
You are such a nice dad...I have a whole new respect for you! Let her know DSW has these new cool Coach clogs! She'll know!! I'm reading it too and was amazed by this as well.....my husband asked me how the book was the other night and I actually said the guy needed to, "suck it up...get over it... and MOVE ON already!!" Guess thats why I'm not a shrink!! But its a really good read! I too, would be willin' to pass it on to anyone who wants it...just let me know as well. Another one I got recently is God Save the Fan....not sure if its new, says ESPN blackballed it...the 1st chapter was hysterical about Michael Vick and his alias "Ron Mexico" at a VD clinic...basically all the things the sports world doesn't want you to know and why...I was laughing out loud in the carpool line...
I was given the book for Christmas and read every word. I found it to be a very sad and depressing story. IMO, the story (account) left a lot of questions unanswered. OTOH, the book made me more thankful for the relationships in my life. I will never read it again.
I am further along in the book now than when I last posted and this is the exact feeling I get from it too.
Don't, cause I beat the chit out of her the other 6 days of this past week- belts, "Switches", whatever I could get my hands on- she's lucky I missed with the dam brick. :hihi:
<--- Bets Tiga had the SI Swimsuit edition hidden inside the cover of the book while his daughter et al shopped.
Its a great book! I finished in about 3 days, and it cost about 25$ I think. Im letting my friend who is now playing college ball read it next. I could relate so much to the book when I just compared it to my high school career. When you play football, it really is a part of your life and is more then just a game.
