I loved Dixieland Delight! I laughed so hard I cried in numerous places in that book! But once again I love to read and I love LSU and I love SEC fandom, so what do I know!!!

I just finished reading the book last night. I enjoyed reading about all the places in and around LSU mentioned in the book, especially since we are close to the same age. Eating Chili Dogs at Der Wienerschnitzel on Highland brought back some good memories of my late night visits after visiting the White Horse. Mr. Bradley is a very good writer who uniquely captures the power of playing football in Tiger Stadium. He writes about his life as the son of a football coach growing up in Opelousas. What it meant to have Coach McCleandon call his high school with is official invite to play ball at LSU and how it was announced over the schools PA system. This story focuses on his struggle of life after football. I feel most Tiger fans will enjoy his book which is written from his heart. :thumb:

If you like to read literature, you pretty much will like what John Ed writes. I haven't read this book yet (requested it for Christmas -- family's always saying they don't know what to get me so I thought I'd make it easy) but I've read some of his other stuff. Tupelo Nights fictionalizes what it was like for an  football player to walk away from the game. The Best There Ever Was is another fictional account of an LSU! coach a lot like Cholly Mac, only more tragic.

I can't wait to read this new one; the excerpts are pretty good.

I ordered it a few days ago. Nothing like a fellow O-Town boy writing about LSU

The author was on Sports Monday this week. Might be able to pick up the replay if interested.
