hey scrap, are you attending LSU after the summer? if that's where your college plans take you and you will be a one day alum of LSU like myself, then why not be a fan. it's hard to go to LSU and not be a fan.
join us and together we will rule the college sports universe. if you only knew the power of the purple and gold side. search your feelings, you know it to be true!

As I said, I support LSU and if they win great. But, im not ever going to be a diehard. I love  the university and the people are great. I dont want people to think that I dont. But, just like if you were to have an oppurtunity to go to college at Bama or Tenn and you took that oppurtunity to do so, you'd still be a Tiger fan. It's the same way for me. I will be going in the fall if the grades keep up. Hopefully that will happen. I dont think i should be hated or anything b/c i'm not a diehard.

Less we forget though, once your a fan of someone its hard to switch. I have nothing at all against LSU. i love the people and the fans and the school. I'm a casual LSU fan. I like towatch them play but I just dont go psycho when doing it. If they win great. If not, I'll wake up the next morning. haha:lsup:

I'm not sure what you're talking about in this sentence. Did I say anything defensive, much less about the Saints or Tulane?

Regarding Gerry V. I agree with you. The guy can be very informative. His topics are good. I think he needs to tone down HIS defensiveness, and his "just in fun" Uber-conceitedness. But there's more too it. There have been times when he has really gone out of bounds.

I hate to keep bringing up the Floyd mess, but it was shameful to listen to the way Gerry treated the guy. It's important to point out that Gerry V is a radio sports talker, who acts as a kind of conduit from the fans to the ACTUAL participants in the sports. Listeners to his show put a vicarious trust in him to be objective, allow for multiple opions and points of view, and TO TREAT THE INTERVIEWEES, THE PLAYERS AND COACHES, WITH SOME LEVEL OF RESPECT. We can all mouth off on a message board, but when we speak to the COMPETITORS THEMSELVES, we need to realize that they are just people trying to do their job and trying their best.

For the same reason that I was upset with Gerry V, I still, to this day, do not listent to the Jim Rome Show. He's probably the funniest guys in sports talk and he is very informative, but I can't forgive the way he treated Jim Evert in that famous interview. What a punk.

Gerry V is welcome to post here (as if he needs me to welcome him), and I'll listen to his show occasionally, but I'd feel a lot better about the guy if he apolgized for the crappy way he handled that Floyd interview.

Yes Gerry V. is annoying and seems to believe, as he has said for days now, that it is the a-holes that keep sports fans interested. More than the skills, more than the matchups, more than the overall game. What a load. Unfortunately, he seems to sometimes take that philosopy to heart as a talk show host. When he gets overly excited, it is hard to take. He repeats the same questions and topics adnauseum, which is especially excruciating when it is a bad topic. And the Yankees? Talk about it over beers with your pals. We really don't care all that much.

On the other hand, he knows his stuff when it comes to sports and gives very good insights. He has a great handle on the Hornets personnel situation, which may not matter to most folks here. The best part of the show is that he gets some fantastic guests. Sportscasters and writers locally and from around the country. I think he has Peter King from SI on today. Not sure how they do it, but it gives a national perspective on very specific local topics. Oh, but Gerry, while I love Dandy Don, he may not be the choice as your LSU specialist. Why don't you ask the "kind" folks here who they would like to hear?

Oh, and with clueless Karre Johnson, arrogant homer Jim Wilkerson and the semi-retarded babbling of Bobby Hebert (can I use the adjactive "arrogant" again here?) between endless commercials on WWL as a measuring stick, Gerry V. looks pretty darn good.

Well I happen to think Kaare Johnson is alright. He's not great but I think his show is pretty good. My favorite show would have to be the Herd. I think it is great. I also think my show is very good. Well, not very good, its a good show that does have some great moments. I know I'll be disagreed with but I think its good. For those of you who listen, and you dont think its good, why are your reasons? I always appreciate a negative comment more than a positve b/c you learn more from it. Although positives are welcome too.:)
