Three minutes thought would suffice to find this out; but thought is irksome and three minutes is a long time. - A.E Houseman

They were a sorry lot anyway. Some were noticed looting and others turned their back. No wonder there were so many looters in the city. Many should have been in jail and would have beeen if not for the sorry criminal justice system in NO.
N O needs a mayor like Mayor Giuliani to put some the pride in the police force. It may take five yours to rebuild the city but it will take twenty years to rebuild trust in the NO Justice system in order to get tourists to return.

The overwhelming majority of officers in N.O. are not this way. These are some of the finest officers in the country. They are in there doing what is expected of them and should be held up as hero's afterwards. Don't judge them all by the actions of just a few.

I am not gonna judge anyone that is at the breaking point because they lost everything, they are working with little or no sleep, little or no food or water. If they resign because they are overwhelmed by it all I hope they can get to their families and find the comfort they need. I don't think any of us can possible imagine what they have gone through in both ther personal and professional lives. I would rather a cop walk away that crack up while carrying a gun.

Those that looted, need to be booted from the force anyway.

I would be willing to put money thatit is a small minority that is walking away. The press seems to be focusing on the bad lately, ignoring what good is going on.

I'm in no position to judge any of these people that are at their breaking point. I'm simply not, and I will not condemn them. Besides, this is a miltary operation at this point.

You are a disgrace and should have your a$$ whipped. Shame on you, you pathetic loser  I seriously doubt with a response like this that you ever did anything to contribute to society and probably sure as hell aren't now. Back in my Army days, we said "Lead, Follow or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!" You sir or mam, need to shut your hole and let real men and women do real things for real people who need help.

I don't want to judge these people either, but....

who needs a police officer(or anyone else for that matter) that quits when he/she is most needed?!? :dis: :dis:

I wouldn't want them to be my partner!!
