What is wrong with you people talking about people you know nothing about dealing with situations you know nothing about. Some of these officers have lost everything they have and are being shot at by the ones they are trying to save and protect. It is almost a hopeless situation that is not getting better. It must be easy for you people to give out stupid comments while you're over here sitting on your butts typing away in the comfort of your home. Unless you are out there in the boats, and heat getting shot at your comments don't mean a damn thing.

I will judge them: Your true colors shine when there are no fears of repremand. So I say these people or truly dark hearted. Not the one getting food and water but the the 2 lady cops stealing stuff cloths from the walmart on tv. They are 100% lossers in my book.
Either you have morals or you don't, and morals show by actions when one is looking.

As stated earlier, If they want to quit, fine. Just finish what you swore to do first.

See you people are quick to point out a problem but I can't expect to hear or see any of you take the place of those men.

I suppose anybody has a right to quit his job in disgust, especially when overstressed. But when these fellows come back feeling better next month and want their jobs back, it should be "No thanks, you left your fellow officers to handle your job as well as their own. Try the Post Office".

    I totally agree with that.

These are EXTREME circumstances here so I don't think it is necessary to call these people names or question their commitment. Perhaps hearing why some quit would help us understand a bit better. You have to remember some of these people have commitments to their families as well. They have to be their to help their families rebuild as well.

Oh Saltyone, You are so right. Glad the soldiers at bull run and Ardaine Forrest and Iwa Jima etc, etc did not quit. Duty / Honor are words that many outside of military service do not fully understand. Those who have served and paid the price gnerally see things in a different light. You my friend are like myself, we have paid the price and see it for what it is. An act of cowardice of the worst sort.

    Enough said

My prayers to the people who are suffering

Dont talk about duty or honor here. These cops did not sign on for a warzone destroyed city, wading through water and fighting gangs... well, maybe that is the actual job description for some south louisians towns... but anyway... when you join the military, you know that you may be asked to fight in any conditions... police are asked to uphold civil order, but at some point, they are no longer qualified nor obligated to stay. Its takes special people to be able to handle that kind of atmosphere. Are you going to ask a metermaid or a desk cop or someone who usually passes out parking tickets to pick up a shotgun and join the swat team? thats not reasonable. Many of these people have families relocated to other cities. They have to leave, join their families, and get on with their lives, just like anyone else.
