Don't know if it has already been mentioned here, but I wasn't aware of it until today. Looks like Vandy has already taken advantage of the new rule.

I don't really have a problem with it. I think that an athlete that has done the work neccisary to graduate deserves that oportunity. Most of the people taking advantage of this are going to be athletes that probably wounldn't get any new oportunities where they are currently at and just want a final chance with a coaching staff that doesn't have their mind made up about how good they are. Plus, i doubt that it will have any serious impact on any of the sports.

if the ncaa cared at all about the student there would be little transfer restrictions, but they dont so the student will continue to be a slave. im glad theyve been given this crumb.

if there were few transfer restrictions players would be jumping ship right and left at the drop of a hat... the rule prevents players from shopping around for 4 straight years while not really goign to school

I like the transfer restrictions, but I still think this rule is a good move for the NCAA. It won't hurt programs very much, but will definitely help a few & is really nice for students that work hard & graduate before their eligibility runs up.

coaches can do, so players should be able to do it.

Bill King of Rivals Radio, has been using Matt Flynn as the poster child for the new transfer rules at every opportunity.

Probably should be noted, Rivals is based out of Tennessee.

Coaches are professionals. Players are not.
