Former NFLer Keion Carpenter died today at age 39, after hitting his head in a fall while on a family vacation. Carpenter holds a special place for Saints fans; he was the Falcon DB who was positively trucked by Deuce in '05. You can see it here at :28

Mary Tyler Moore dies at age 80. She was a hottie when she played Rob's wife on The Dick Van Dyke Show. On her own show, the funeral of Chuckles the Clown was probably one of the best sitcom moments ever.

At the time, it probably had the best cast in sitcom history.....MTM, Ed Asner, Gavin McLeod, Ted Knight, Betty White, Cloris Leachman, Valerie Harper. That was strong. I think it was eventually topped by the cast of Taxi, although pretty much everyone on that cast made their name on that show, other than Andy Kaufman. Most of those on MTM were already pretty well known, and Betty White, as a semi-regular, was the best of them all.

It's up there for me. Difficult to pick a best ever. Taxi, Cheers, Family Ties, Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, Happy Days, Soap, Wonder Years. Most noticeably missing from my list.....M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, Cosby Show.
