I know Dorsey was a huge loss, but considering the time he spent unhealthy and the loss of Alexander this year, our DL will be just as good next year. If everyone stays healthy and Alexander returns to form it may be better as a unit than this year. Everyone gets a little better with an extra year and hopefully stays healthy. Even the backups, Favorite, etc., get better and if someone does get dinged up, can step in without losing a beat. In fact we may be able to keep fresh bodies in the mix with a rotation that possibly includes Favorite or others. This news, if it pans out, is unbelievably beneficial IMO!!!
FYI, a poster on Rivals had this projection "based on rumors" "LT Ciron Black Mark Snyder (this is the only one I'm not sure about) LG Herman Johnson Josh Dworacyzk (would have been first back-up OL in last year but Miles didn't want to burn the shirt) C Brett Helms T-Bob Herbert RG Joseph Barksdale Lyle Hitt (little bit of a suprise here, but just a little) RT Jarvis Jones Ernest McCoy"
Looks about right. Don't think that Hitt is being shafted, though. He can play both guard spots and will rotate freely in and out of the lineup.
Nice job Parso...I really wasn't giving us a whole lot of credit...may have to re-think my judgement.
Also, reading an article (in the Advocate, maybe?), it said that Cutrera would likely lock down one of the OLB positions, while Riley & Sheppard would compete for the other. I don't think that will be the case.
Listening to WWL 870am they just had a reporter on to discuss what happened in today's first spring practice.. The things of note I heard was Lee looked oustanding, and that of the wide receivers Chris Mitchell looked the best. He had crisp routes and the best hands. Good to hear.. He said Coleman looked good at safety, and that Perry Riley was impressive filling in for the injured Cutrera. The most intriguing thing he said was that Danny McCray and Chad Jones worked at corner and appeared to be ahead of Hawkins and Jai Eugene.. that's very intriguing to me. Obviously it is just the first practice of the Spring, but still surprising.
