I'm in despair over Oakland trading away their first rounder and passing on a shot at Ronnie Brown (although now it appears he won't fall all the way to 7 anyway). Saints helped themselves by nabbing D. Smith. When they decide to put out the money, they almost never screw free agency up. Now the draft. . ..:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Bucs are my team and I was thinking it was Brown but that may be because i like RB better I dreamed it. the saints signing dwight smith from the bucs pisses me off but at least the local team gets an excellent player. rumor has it, saban is nabbing Ronnie Brown but that usually means the opposite since no one shows their hand yet send out false info for good reason. freaking braylon edwards was a monster at the combine. he did 22 reps (or 25 I forgot) with 225 and ran like the wind. unreal for a WR.
Pollack will jump back on in a few weeks. He has gone off and on Kiper's board on a weekly basis. I personally think he will be a great NFL player.
on a similar note, it seems Corey Webster has fallen out of the mid to late first round to early second round at best. seems his last year hurt him a ton and he is an example of one who should have left early. cost him a serious signing bonus almost certainly.
I really wouldnt be suprised to see the saints go O-line... they are really tired of wayne gandy and they would like to pick up a solid tackle. THen again, they did just pick up Jermane Mayberry, so maybe not. They seem to like the young linebackers they have and they think that fakir brown is a starter, so with mckenzie on the other side and fred thomas as nickel, no cb til the third round. However, they may end up with the "best available player" deal and take a corner. Now, i were running the show, i would deal away Howard, try to move up into the top 10 to take Rolle or Pacman Jones at CB.
Opposite of Webster, I suspect Braylon Edwards would talked about as a top 3 pick if his junior year wasn't perceived as such a disappointment. Carr was consistently irritated for Edwards not realizing his potential earlier, b/c he was such a beast in practice. I think that analysis is a bit unfair, given the ridiculous expectations, but that's the way it goes. Hopefully he doesn't pan out like David Terrell, though based on his physicality, I doubt that will happen.
I just had a sobering thought... I typically discard school rivalries for guys after they're drafted, so I only have about six weeks left of strongly disliking a pretty sizeable group of players... Brown, Caddy, Matt Jones, Pollack, Greene, Fason, Benson, D. Johnson, Mike Williams, Carlos Rogers, Crowder, Clayton, on and on. So, for one of the last times...DAMN THESE GUYS! All of 'em! Each and every non LSU SEC player, UT player, OU and USC pukes, ALL OF 'EM! Now, come April I'll be pretty happy if most any of 'em end up on the Texans (except Pollack and Greene...I don't think I'll like their punka$$es after they're pro either, and no I don't care about non-stop motors or any of that junk.):cuss::cuss:o:o: Agh, I feel better. :geauxtige
Saban said on his radio show after the AU game that no one on LSU's defense liked tackling Brown at all - that guy is a load. They practiced tackling technique just to prepare for him. In my opinion, Brown is more an every down type back - like Deuce - but I think Brown will be better than Deuce. I think Caddy will make a great pro, too. Amazing AU had both of those guys. I think they both have all-pro type potential. Glad they are gone from AU.
don't know if this shows things to come or not but the Dolphins release WR David (the best body money can buy) Boston. Does this mean they'll take a WR first?
