Not likely. He was costing them a fortune, and still had a suspension to serve. There's no receiver in this draft worthy of a #2 overall pick. Perhaps if Tennessee were to trade up to get Brown, the Fins could get Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams (though he would be a perfect fit), but I don't see it happening. They've already got Chambers (a legit #1 receiver w/ a real QB) and Booker, who isn't bad. They could use a real #2 kind of possession receiver, and move Booker to the slot to use his speed more, but you can grab that kind of talent in the 3rd round (which is good, b/c those boneheads traded their Rd. 2 pick.)
They sure need a big WR to go with Booker. If they don't take Braylon or that USC loser 2nd, they don't have a second rounder and are probably looking at the tier with Reggie Brown, Chris Henry, JR Russell. All good WR's with decent potential, but no gamebreakers. Troy Williamson will be a stud but no way he falls to the 3rd round. (BTW, thought it was weird for him to cut out when Spurrier was set to make him a star, but given the SC problems, maybe he saw the writing on the wall?)
Yeah, as soon as I finished my post I read yours but didn't want to reply and make it two in a row. I'll concede your logic, but I personally think Chambers would be unstoppable in the slot rather then drafting a slot guy. He's fast but the inconsistancy is what gets me. Sure he's had some HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE QB's, but good WR's make inadequate QB's better. They definently need a RB in the worse way though, so you're definently right about WR not being at the top of their list.
Hey tirk...shhhhhh. You could get in big trouble here admitting you like an Auburn RB and dream about him :hihi: :hihi:
