No effin brainer. Since I sparingly watch NFL I didn’t realize how the post season OT format was and alao shocked that even the reg season has never changed. I’m referring to the NE and KC game moreso. The Chiefs never get a chance to touch the ball- with Super Bowl birth on the line.
The LSU-A&M game is proof the college OT system is much better. End sarcasm. Truth is, there's no perfect method, but I think the closest method to fair is the current NFL method, but eliminate the "game over if the first possession is a TD" clause. Each team is guaranteed one possession. If its tied after that, first score wins, the end. If one team wins it in 2 possessions, and the other team only got the ball once, tough titty for you; play some defense.
Even though most people hate it, I like the college OT for college, but that's it. No way it should be implemented in the NFL.
Watching TV today and someone mentioned making it similar to college where both teams get the ball.. . Difference is they get it at the 50 and each team gets one chance, TD or no... If it's still tied after that it's sudden death... But this would bring o, d and st into... Especially with kickers making 55yd FG on the regular... Wouldn't solve the shitty officiating though...
