Again, I think you missed the point... but, that's O.K..... btw, I can't think of anyone "on the outside" that holds SC in high esteem. In that sense, they are very much like a Michigan State or any other wannabe program.... capable of having their moments during the season... then just as capable of being quite average.
USC needed a miracle to beat Notre Dame, a slightly above average team. Texas has not been tested at all. Don't be so quick to put the unbeatable tag on any college team. Fresno State or UCLA could beat USC. Texas? They don't have any competition but how badly would that hurt them against a real defense. By the same token, LSU could come out of Oxford with egg on their faces. You have to strap it up and play hard every week, I don't care who you are. I'd play USC in a heartbeat. If they are better, they will win, but polls and computers don't factor in the intangibles.
