Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? Nick Saban will be moving on within 5 years. He likes to build things up then move on. Now that he is at a "top job" professionally he will start moving sideways instead of up. Just like Larry Brown. Take it to the bank. Some people can see trends quicker than others.
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? I disagree. Someone mentioned earlier that Saban just leaves for better opportunities. Not only that, but he likes to compete at the highest levels. Not that the Big 10 is a slouch, but the SEC is generally viewed as the premiere conference in college football (non-SEC schools will disagree with this, but deep down inside, they know it's true), so he wanted a challenge at a higher level in a state where he basically had recruiting locked up. Now that he's at the highest level and is in complete control of football operations in Miami, I don't think he will leave to take some other job. I think he'll be there until he retires or is forced out - whichever comes first.
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? I am guessing just because he left us....that people are still mad. He hasn't been to 8 Professional teams like Brown He hasn't turned around several teams like Brown He hasn't won the Professional Title like Brown List goes on....
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? He was not looking to leave the Big 10 to come to the "premiere SEC". If he were at Michigan instead of Michigan State, he would not have come to LSU. Sorry but that is homerism. Recruiting part, I will agree with. We'll have to settle this one up in about 5-10 years. My opinion remains.
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? I agree that if he was at Michigan, he probably wouldn't have left. The point I was trying to make was that he would get more exposure and better athletes in the SEC and, if successful, would lead to his ultimate goal of the NFL. And that's exactly what happened.
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? wtf? why are you mentioning me, obsessed? Your teachers must have loved you....
Re: Nick Saban = Larry Brown? For your further perusal.... DOES $$$$$ = Larry Brown???? Digging this up I may have been on to something back then....
