I really admire his dedication and work ethic. This is exactly the reason why he'll be successfull wherever he is coaching.

Although many players do not like him during the season, this is an example of why every player that plays for Saban respects him. The team is first and everything else is second.

But, seriously, a couple hours set aside to honor the invite? That's not asking too much. It's not like he wanted him to fly to the White House.

No one will ever out work or out prepare Nick. I just hope he doesn't burn himself out like Vermeill did when he was with the Eagles.

I agree with SabanFan that Nick should have cut loose for a couple of hours and talked X's & O's with W

Oh ya I agree it was ridiculous that Saban would not spend 2hours with the president when it is just the 1st week of training camp. Like you said its not like George W was asking him to fly to the white house, he was like 20min up the road. This is just how many of the NFL coaches are where they will not waste time when they could be getting ahead in their practices.

I'm no big fan of Bush, but I respect Saban for leading by example and putting his team ahead of all other things, whether it be Bush or any other President. I think we could probably all learn a thing or two about work ethic from Saban.

Perhaps Nick is just being polite. Many celebrities don't like being seen with politicians where these photo-ops are often construed to be an endorsement.
