WAY too early to get any conclusions at RB for the Fins. You need a lot of depth there, and they picked up Harris pretty late in the draft anyway.
Yeah, I got a little sad watching him march up and down the sidelines, messing with his headphones. I was only doing a fly by on the channel, and when I saw that I had to stop down. Then I watched some of that ugly play and that was enough for me. Nick might need some "nerve pills," as my Momma would say, before this season is over what with the absence of talent at so many positions.
They didn't waste a pick on him, he was an undrafted free agent. All the Miami RB's looked bad last night, the Phins are going to fork over that extra cash this week to Brown after seeing what life without Ronnie would be like.
of course, I miss little nickie everyday. its like when skip left, there's just no replacing him. i will definitely miss the tirades almost more than anything minus the winning and great defensive play. i wept myself to sleep last night but I think i am better today. it will be a long recovery it seems. orton has talent thats nothing new. how he collapsed his final year in the midst of a heisman race I will never understand. brock berlin looked very good but i knew as sure as the sun was coming up today that he was gonna throw a pick once they got in the red zone. his passes beforehand and reads were excellent. k-j looked good and will be a solid player i do believe. he made a really good run on the last drive plowing over people. he was pretty special at wva.
No way will miles be as fun to watch as saban. Nothing like seeing saban going ballistic with 2minutes left in the 4th qrt when we are up by 50 on a rent a win team. Saban was a one of a kind.
There was one interesting thing that we have to look forward to with Saban in the NFL. In the fifteen minutes that I actually watched the game, our national championship was mentioned 4 or 5 times (and the word "split" wasn't used once). We'll hear a lot about LSU and the national championship.
Great point - just wait until all of "his" talent is suiting up on Sundays in the years to come. My point was simply that Nick Saban is just one of those very rare people who can't comprehend the concept of failure - he is wired for success and he is absolutely incapable of accepting anything less. That is what brought the magic back to Death Valley, that is what brought the crystal to Baton Rouge, that is what kids lined up to play for, and that is why Huizenga flew his private jet to BR with a blank check in hand. People like Nick Saban are EXTREMELY rare in this world and I think we were very lucky to be able to watch his every move (as he was lucky to find a place in LSU where people cared about his every move and supported his vision) for 5 years. I don't care who coaches here in the next 20 years - the Nick Saban attitude and his ability to motivate talent will always be something I crave in our football coaches. The man is special and we are moving on to another man who will have every chance to win the hearts of the fans. Mark my words, college football may not see another Nick Saban for decades to come...
I noticed that also. When they first mentioned it, I started to cringe because i just knew one of the ya-hoos were gonna say the word 'split' or something worse like..... usc. I was greatly relieved when they didn't though! :thumb:
I think Saban built the platform of excellence, while Miles will build on that camarederie and enthusiasm. Who here thinks that the Dolphins will be like the Patriots, ie, the professional LSU team?
