Ref's The ref's were about to screw us out of the time out they were charging it to us but were trying to restart the game without letting us have the time out that's when Saban blew up. :lsup: :lsup: :911: :usaflagwa
Nick had a legitimate complaint in that the official didn't properly signal that the clock had stopped, in which case LSU didn't need to use the timeout.
I noticed thier note taking too and was wondering the same thing. "Note to self: don't piss this guy off" Or remember the Seinfeld episode where Elaine's medical chart noted that she was "difficult" and she couldn't get it retracted?
Well when the play is dead I think the ref is supposed to wave his hands above his head and whistle. That time they took their sweet ass time in blowing dead the clock, and of course we used a timeout to stop the clock with so few seconds left. That was a case of the refs being sloppy and unfocused.
I am not sure, but my take on it was this: since the penalty created a first down the ref was supposed to signal first down. He did not. We wasted a time out because he did not. Saban went off on him. I noticed he forgot about it when Doucet caught that awesome pass. He seemed quite pleased at halftime.
what was great about it was that a microphone caught a bit of him going off the handle. it was great to see nick letting the refs have it in lieu of his players.
