I don't think football can go beyond three rounds of playoff. It would make the final teams have 17 game seasons, which is a lot for student athletes in a rough game.
Even with 4 2 deserving teams were left out. With 8 whoever is 9th will still bitch but their bitching would be a lot less valid than TCU or Baylor
It is all about the TV contract. We are in America and everything is about the dollar. That said, if i understand it correctly 2017 is the earliest that contract can be ammended. Let the right team in the right conference get shut out next year and it could happen sooner. If not '17 isn't that long to wait. I have 2 rock solid bets in the meantime. 1. i can't imagine that u of texas would've been jumped by ohio state after being #3 the week before and winning their final game by 50 points. tcu has their name to blame for not being in the final 4.
