1. I think Ohio St. had the better overall resume than eithe Baylor or TCU.
I think it was really close, but Ohio St. gets the nod.

I'm anti playoffs. regardless of the year being discussed.
  2. And don't think money didn't have a little bit to do with it either. tosu probably has more students enrolled right now than Baylor and TCU combined not to mention they have one of the largest if not THE largest alumni in the country.
  3. What was your number when the playoff was announced? Was it 8 when they first said 4? Just curious, you might have said 8 then...
You suggest I would prefer the BCS formula and this is where nootch and I disagree. I have already stated I am okay with 4 teams. With a 4 team playoff, LSU gets a chance to earn that shot. I am simply against adding more teams to what is already here.
  4. TCU and Baylor did not get overlooked for reasons of economy, viewership, penis size or mascot. They got passed up for not playing in a conference championship and that is it. That is an entire conference, once a heavy hitter in the power 5, now whittled down to a conference with no identity, left out of any consideration for not playing a game they used to pride themselves for.

Guarantee they will open up the coffers looking for suitors to join their conference in an effort to be reintroduced back into title contention. Hell, they might have called Aleva already just to hear him say no.
  5. i'm sure $ was involved (it always has been and will be).

but if you remove the names of the teams, and the stigma that tOSU has after their recent postseason struggles, tOSU has the better resume.

more wins against bowl eligible teams
more wins against the final CFB top 25
    better OOC schedule
    an outright conference title
  6. If the goal of the committee is to select the best teams they failed. OSU would be the underdog to both Baylor and TCU according to the Vegas oddsmakers

  7. the goal of the committee is to ensure the best team doesn't get left out.

Alabama, Oregon, FSU are the only 3 teams that can truly make an argument to being #1.
    all three are in.
    mission accomplished.

every team after that is nothing more than window dressing to make the numbers work.

  8. I don't have a problem with osu making it. I have a problem with the idiots having tcu at 3 then suddenly moving osu up. If they were deserving andnthey believed it they should have been in the mix all along.

They simply took the path of least resistance. Not who they liked. Pussies.

  9. that's a reasonable complaint, and agree they never should have set TCU to plummet like that.
