If Michigan would have lost this game in October, most would say they deserve an opportunity to play in the NC game. But they lose at the end of November and now they should be automatically excluded from the NC game? That makes no sense. The goal is to get the two best teams in the NC game. OSU is clearly one of those teams. Based on the game yesterday, Michigan deserves as much consideration for the NC game as any other one-loss team. I'm hoping Florida destroys FSU and Ark to get some consideration. But if not Florida, I'd rather Michigan over USC or Notre Dame.
Well, too, remember that UM would be playing OSU on neutral ground for a title game, whereas this was at OSU. I can almost guarantee that if that game was at the Big House, OSU would have lost. UM vs. OSU on neutral ground determines the best team...agree?
so poeple who had a problem(herbie) with OU not winning their conf and losing the last game in '03 have no problem with UM being in the NC game. shocking...
I don't know, my take on it is that Michigan should not get a rematch. I mean, for years we keep pushing for a playoff, and yet when one team loses to another straight up, everyone now just suddenly wants a rematch. Think of it as like the first round of a playoff. UM had their chance. They lost, and now they are eliminated. Put some new blood in and see if someone else can beat OSU.
Well, how do you judge who is the best one-loss team? USC lost to Oregon State, Florida lost to Auburn, and ND lost to Michigan. To exclude Michigan from the conversation b/c they played yesterday makes no sense to me.
The simple fact is Michigan is still a potential candidate only because there are five or six other teams who find a way to unimpress the voters each week.
