This really sucks cause I planned my Vegas trip around the Ole Miss game. I was looking foward to watching it at EspneZone and maybe even put a little money on it. If I would have know it wasn't gonna be televised, I might have planned the trip around the Bama or Arkansas game.
Just an update...this game shows up on the gameplan satellite guide for me, with both Ole Miss and LSU commentators (two different gameplan showings). I hope they don't yank the football away just before I kick it - but for now, it looks like it's showing. http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index
I will be watching this one on Gameplan. ESPN is nice to have, and ESPN Gameplan is a Godsend! I've seen every LSU football game on television this year - except Arky State, which I saw some of on the net streaming video, and Bama which I attended (but also recorded and watched when I got home!) :geaux:
I have Dish Network. I called today to inquire if the game (though scheduled on ESPN Game Plan) would be shown in my area (Alabama) was told it was going to be shown ONLY in Louisiana. Don't know if this applies to any other format (cable or Direct TV). :sob:
I thought this game was going to be on Tigervision and also ESPN gameplan. What did I miss? I was planning on watching it tomorrow on gameplan! They better not screw me and not show it!
The game will be televised on Direct tv. The wife and I got Dish Network a while back and we're going back to Direct tv because we think Dish Network really sucks. Dish Network picks certain games to televise or not to televise in certain areas, they then charge $30 or whatever it is when Direct tv carries it all along for $20 for the day and you get all of gameplans games on that day. Direct tv carries all games in all areas but I think it would be blacked out in Louisiana only. Thank God I didn't have Dish last year because I would've killed someone over there! :angryfire
Here are the facts with DISH and the game. 1. It will be shown nationwide via ESPN gameplan (unless ESPN decides to pull it last minute). 2. It will also be shown on a separate PPV channel for $29.99, but that particular channel is for Louisiana residents only. So...the game will be shown on DISH on two separate channels. If ESPN does decide to yank it from GP, it will still be available on the PPV channel for $30 in La. only (unless you have a 'special' satellite subscription - in which case parts of TX, AR, MS could also get it).
Why would ESPN yank it from Gameplan??? I don't see that happening! People have paid good money for it under the understanding that the game will be available! No way they decide to pull it at the last minute!
