No one said he'd start, but he will have a major impact as a true freshman.

So as a true freshman he is going to learn 3 positions plus special teams at the same time? Some of you need a reality check.

Its not about learning three positions at all. You dont need to know the ends and outs of a position to run a fly pattern, or a quick slant, or get a hand off. He will be mainly used as a QB but could be used in other positions. There is also a thing called being a decoy. Watch UF and see how they use Harvin.

You need to know the plays, the routes and assignments to play WR. RB would be a little easier but you still need to know the playbook. QB there is a ton to learn. Special teams is easiest but still takes time and learning. Divide time between the 4 and it takes even longer just to learn the basics. If you think the coaching staff is going to stick him out there and tell him just run a fly pattern every play you are mistaken. Too many fans see this young young kid as a super human savior. He is a big time recruit with unlimited potential that will need to be developed as he learns the offense and the college game. I think he plays early at some position, but let's at least be realistic when talking about his immediate impact.

This kid has much more of head on his shoulders than did Russell.

Its not difficult to learn a few basic routes, like a fly, screen, and slant to get him the ball in space. As a QB he can run the option or the keeper. I dont at all see him as a savior. I just see many possibilties for an athlete like him. He should get a good bit of touches with his ability. He is too good to keep sitting.

I agree, it's just that some seem to expect way too much way too soon. The kid is a super rare athlete that will play early, just don't expect him to be an immediate game changer.

Not saying he is going to come right in and change the face of LSU football but he will see the field in a few roles next year IMO. Getting here in January will help him get a firm grasp on the playbook and practice running through his assignments. The earlier he gets his shot the better IMO.

He could be a game-changer just by bringing ATTITUDE to the Tigers, something the Tigers are woefully short of this year. While he will be only a freshman, I don't think he'll hesitate in calling out the guys on the team who are underperforming. That is, if we have improvement in the coaching techniques from this year. This is the first priority.
