Former Georgia Tech football player Greg Gathers received a kidney transplant Monday morning at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. His playing career was cut short due to a kidney disease. His mother was the living donor. Gathers had a great game against LSU in the Peach Bowl but the Tigers rallied for the win. Tommy Banks had one of the best games of his career in his final game.
