If you truly hope that RP turns his life around, you should at least appreciate that RP went to a school that has a coach that just kicked his only QB off the team for off-the-field issues including drugs. Also, back during the RP-to-JSU speculation, this story was run in the Anniston Star (the local paper for JSU): Long story short, the JSU Coach only took RP after having a long talk with Coach Miles, where Coach Miles encouraged the JSU Coach take RP. After everything Coach Miles went through in the media with RP, I doubt Coach Miles wouldn't be straight with a fellow coach on what he's going to be looking at by taking RP on his team.
To see what ignorant crap would be said about a player who didn't care about LSU at all. I looked because I doubt that people really care about RP because most people have never met him. LSU gave him every chance in the world and he blew it. And you guys can't let him go.
If he didn't care about LSU at all, then why did come to LSU? Why did he bust his azz for all those years for LSU at our practices? Did you do that for LSU? If you didn't, then you have no room to talk. Also, if RP didn't care about LSU at all, then why does he constantly take the high ground after his future was significantly damaged by being kicked off LSU's team? Since being kicked off the team, RP has had nothing but good things to say about LSU. In comparison, you take the low ground by kicking somebody who is down.
You show you care about LSU by doing what you are told (like going to class, staying out of trouble) and doing what it takes to stay on the team. Miles made the right decision but much later than he should have. RP cared only about himself and using LSU to get to the NFL. You guys forget what the kid said coming out of high school. "I will win 4 heisman trophies while at LSU. Note no mention of team. LSU is not a minor league football team (though some would suggest that it is). RP should have taken the lead from Dorsey who was a tremendous example of a player who loves his school. He benefitted from it too. In closing, I doubt the kid makes it at JSU. He had a self destuct mechanism. His selfishness will take him out.
