I NEVER thought I would be rooting for ND. I hate Notre Dame but Geaux ND. Then again I hate the BCS and college football for post-season play. I really love watching the bowls but if they only had 1 more game last year and this year when there is dispute over who is #1. Then again I prefer a playoff system.
I don't. I mentioned this in another thread, but will let it fly here too. I like the bowl system. I would prefer to see a +1 game in the years it's needed. Undefeated teams from non-BCS conference schools would be ineligible. If we did go to a "playoff" system, I would like to see it between the winning schools of the 4 BCS games. That way, the season is only extended by 2 games max.
Today, I've heard no less than 3 talking heads from 2 different networks talking about the need for a playoff in Div 1A. The guy on ESPN used my argument...if Div 1AA, Div II, and Div III can do it, there is no logical or monetary reason Div 1A cannot do it. While the BCS is pretty $hitty at choosing between 3 for 2 spots, it would work well for choosing 16 to play in the playoffs, that is, if they put strength of schedule back into the equation.
I really think the ND/USC game is over at halftime with Leinhart throwing 3 TD's in one half....Peyton-like
