Coach Les Miles probably had his best coaching year since becoming our coach.

Our defense was plain awful in 3-4 games this year. Some of it had to do with starting so many young guys in the secondary.

QB play absolutely hurt us this year. We have got to sign someone better than what we have. Zach? Steven Rivers?

At 10-2 we overachieved and that is a reflection of the coaching staff.

Future is bright provided we get a new QB.

Lastly, I'd like to see Auburn and Oregon in the NCG.

How do you think Auburn would stack up against Oregon. Having seen Oregon play in person, I'm a bit concerned with Auburn's ability to contain Oregon's offense. However, the same goes for Oregon. They will not contain Cam Newton. I guess it will be a high scoring offensive shoot out.

I think it has the potential to be the most exciting game since USC vs. Texas in 2005 season.

Well, I for one was impressed with all the youth this year.

Really, it will set us up nice for the future.

We just need to make sure someone steps up next year on O. (FORD)

And on D, Sheppard will be missed along with Nevis, but lots of potential there and comming in.

Agreed. We will need some leadership with the loss of Sheppard and Nevis. The QB spot will be the key though. I think our depth on defense is going to carry us. I look for Baker to be a big part of that next year. For all the blown coverages this year the secondary will be better. Loston, Mathieu, Claiborne, Reid, Simon, We are stacked in the secondary and Dline. LB'er will be key for us.

Two fold --- Crowton and QB. The question becomes do we change anything this off season. I'd say no.

    LSU needs:
QB coach who can actually coach up players.
Offensive coordinator who can actually give the offense an identity.
Offensive that uses a better blocking scheme. THe current one is horrible. Way too much zone. Not nearly enough movement and angles.
Size on the defensive line, particularly at DE. Those 240-260 lbs. DEs get killed in teh running game.

Chavis really needs to figure out a way to defend spread plays. And it's not just young players, everyone in the linebacker corps and secondary always seems to be out of position, getting blocked out of the play, taking bad angles to the ball carrier, and missing tons of tackles.

Neither Jefferson nor Lee are the answer at QB. Hopefully we get Mettenberger and he gets up to speed quickly. And pair him with a decent QB coach so he and Rivers have a shot to develop into good SEC QBs.

I am happy with 10-2 and a good bowl win. I really expected 8-4 with our QB woes.
Did not expect defense to be as good as they were (last three excluded).
Still want to give our play caller and o-line coach their walking papers.
Would like to see us tackle better on D and catch better on O.
