Well you hit the nail on the head podna. Good get. I figured red would jump all over that but you're quicker. I wish Obama could run one more time so I could vote for him. He's the greatest.
Drug laws, like all other criminal statutes, are designed to lock up whoever breaks the law no matter what color they are. The penalties for crack are higher because crack users commit more criminal acts in order to get money for crack than powder sniffers do. Same with meth. If more black people commit those crimes than the number of white people who commit them whose fault is that?
There is no cooking, but it IS a fact that the work force is shrinking even WITH a growing population. It is a problem.
The workforce is shrinking because the Baby Boomers are retiring. Are there some "of-age" workers who are sitting it out? Sure, but the vast majority of individuals leaving the workforce are baby boomers who are retiring. This is also the cause of our inflated disability roles and an increase in many social services. I am not blaming them for getting older or retiring; it's just a consequence of having a generation so large who are "aging out" of the system so quickly. This fact alone distorts many of the metrics that conservatives like to point to as failures in Obama's policies. So it is a problem because we have to figure out how to get through this temporary fiscal problem of having a greater burden on our social service systems but it is not a problem in the sense that public policy is breeding a degenerate class of people who just don't want to work. The good news is that this is a temporary problem and NOT one of slack government policy.
