As evidenced by this last election, when people are fed up with the incumbent, they'll put anything in there. Suppose I tell you there's some junior senator out there you that never heard of that will come out of nowhere and make a spash in national politics. Sound familiar?
Maybe we should just stop breathing. I mean, since when you exhale, you let out carbon dioxide. That works. Let's all just stop breathing. Oh, and let's cut down all the trees and pave all our yards with concrete since the plants live off carbon dioxide.
Fail. You aren't concerned with the exponential spike of CO2 that coincided with the industrial revolution?
I have never studied the climate change issue. There seems to be no doubt that the earth is warming in the last hundred years. The question is, is this a natural cycle of the earth (which has happened before) or is this different and is it caused by man's activity, specifically the carbon age that started in the 19th century with the widespread burning of coal for heat and then use of the gas engine to power cars and trucks. I do not know the answer. I spent most of my time trying to beat the stock market, which I have done easily over the last 10 years. If I'm not going to do the research NECESSARY to hold an opinion, I won't just render one based on something someone else told me, especially what any political party told me about a fundamentally scientific issue. I could be in the minority here, but I doubt it. I think it is unfortunate for folks to assert that they know something when they have just "listened" to someone else and not actually made the effort to find the first hand research and read it on BOTH sides, the pro and the con, to see what is said and evaluate it. What I see is the president asking people to make a sacrifice, but not explaining to the people WHY they need to sacrifice. The energy plan is going through congress, but it is not being explained to the people. That's the problem. We should have a mini-series on TV, with the best of the climatologists, a 3 person team of pro and cons on made made climate change. It should be well organized formal debate. Let is last 3 nights or 5 or whatever it takes. Have opening statements, rebuttals, discussion, and closing arguments. I doubt that congress has seen this done. Then lets vote. Maybe Red or someone can point us to a good pro AND a good con link and we can all go read.
