It looks like they are changing to Field Turf at Giants Stadium. The field was horrible last year.
I like grass the best, but for that stadium with as much use as it gets Field Turf might be the answer.

On an on subject note - Tiger Stadium's field did not look so good last year as well. I know some of it was just bad timing with bad weather, but LSU football is the only game on that field. Are they making any changes to make sure it does better this year?

In ordinary years, Tiger staduim grass holds up quite well. Groundskeepers reported that the problems at Tiger stadium last year was due to the heavy rains from two hurricanes in September. The overwatered grass developed a root structure that was too shallow, which led to clumps of turf being ripped up during games. They can't keep it covered for more than a day without risk of killing the grass.

The field at Tiger stadium was rebuilt about 10 years ago with a state-of-the-art underfield drainage system with a thick layer of sand over it. Water doesn't stand on the field, it goes right through. It's hard to improve on that.
