Vince Young doesn't run half as much as he used to. He's more of a passer now. He only really runs if he really gets into trouble.

That said, in three years, almost nobody has gotten a direct hit on Vince Young. He's too fast, quick, and elusive. Young isn't slow and white like Evridge is.

Inconsistency? Have you seen him throw this year? He's like 6th in the country in pass effeciency and completes nearly 70% of his passes. Last year, he was inconsistent. No such problems this year, though.

How many passes does he throw in a game? He had one absolutely appalling game and has looked good in others. I'm still not sold on his passing ability. Sure the passing %complete is there but who have they played and how many passes has he thrown in games.

He throws half the passes that other QB's throw, so of course his % will be high. Yes it is 67% completion which is good but only 138 attempts.

Using those kind of stats I could say C. Hodges of TT is better because he attempts double what Vince does and has a higher percentage at 71%. If other QBs only had to attempt 20 passes, like Vince does in a game they could have higher %'s.

I'm not saying Vince is terrible but his mechanics are bad and he will have to change everything if he wants to make it in the pros.

terrible reasoning to try and validate your point. he as 22 of 27 or so last week vs Colorado.

did you not see the winning pass against OSU? its ok to admit you're wrong, just hard for most.

He throws between 25-30 times per game. I'm not sure that logic makes a whole lot of sense. Just because you don't throw 40 times per game doesn't make it any easier to throw the ball.

He also beat Ohio State with his arm...not on the ground. Texas had over twice as many passing yards as they did rushing yards in that game.

In Big 12 games, Vince Young is 54/78 (69%), 813 yards, 7 TD/1 INT. And there are still people who question is passing ability. Mechanics has nothing to do with results. He's getting it done. How he will do in the NFL has nothing to do with him as a college player.

What's so funny about this thread is that you have been able to read the exact things that JP4LSU are saying on soonerfans.com for the past few years now.

Even after VY wiped the floor with them at the Cotton Bowl, they still think he can't pass.

Another point that I would like to make is that ut has put the ball on the ground 20 times this year. I believe they have only lost 5 of the fumbles, but if the ball keeps hitting the ground, sooner or later, you will pay. This is not to say TTU hasn't had a few issues in turning the ball over, and they could be hurt by the same circumstance.

Most of those have been drom dropped snaps by Vince Young out of the shotgun which he quickly picks up and runs. Those aren't too dangerous. But a good number also come from Selvin Young. He has fumbled a ton this season. If Jamaal Charles is unable to go on Saturday (but I expect he will), fumbles could definitely play a big factor into the game.
