Yeah, nothing to do with wanting to leave the state. If his grades were less of a risk his offer sheet would be longer. If he's eligible as a freshman, he would've played as a freshman. With Kansas he'll probably be the offensive MVP on a 12 loss team. He'd be a potential game changer for a big time team, but I don't blame Eaux for wanting him to wait it out. I'd rather he leave the conference than have to deal with him at like a Moo State, which was a recent possibility.
Sucks to lose Pooka, but with this early signing period and a hard cap of 25 (we definitely take him with the grade risks if the cap wasn't firm, imo) we simply cannot afford to take a shot on a guy we may not even get on the field. I hope the best for him if he has his grades in order and he's able to light it up in the Big XII. These two new aspects to recruiting are going to cause a lot of ripple effects we won't fully know until we can examine it a few years from now. Do you sign everyone you offered? Seems we have.
