I'd agree about the o-line thing if Marcus Randall would throw the ball accurately when given time by the o-line. That last interception, he didn't have any pressure on him, yet he threw it 5 yards over the head of David Jones right to a defender. I'm not excluding Whitworth and Wilkerson because of who they are. You rarely see pressure coming from the left side, he has been only average in run blocking, but he isn't a mauling type LT. Wilkerson has gotten pentalized a few times, but he is the consistent center that we know. We can blame it on the o-line and they probably deserve it, but the fact still remains that Randall just can't throw the ball very accurately.
OK I'll give you that, but if this is so and you say it is, WHY has Ja Marcus struggled also. and PLEASE DONT SAY HE HASNT or I 'll just consider you a moron and go about my business..... Ok think now before you type..... could it be they both have a similar problem? they have completely different styles but they both are struggling...... NOW throw in that JV ( your guy ) ( think now and dont just hammer Randall ) throw in the fact that JV is struggling and get a big picture here. Saban has eluded to it in interviews, he isn't going to come right out on media and announce what his team's weakness' are :dis: I agree that Ja marcus is very talented and I agree marcus is mediocre, BUT at this point they are bout the same. AND they may have some protection but they have NO sure ability to run the ball. OK one last point and I'm through....... this should nail it for you...... LOOK at the games we've had 150 plus yards running the ball. it makes the Qb's job easier. We've done FAIR this year at running the ball, not great. and being we are, shall we say " tender" at the Qb position? we need a GREAt running game. We need to open up some BIG lanes like last year. I don't see it happening this year unfortunately.
I'd say that JR and MR have been equally bad/good this year. They've both had their big comeback wins (JR- Oregon State, MR-UF) and their ugly games (JR-UF, MR-tonight). But, the question is why stick with the senior QB when you've got a guy that will be controlling the future of LSU football on the bench? Why didn't Saban put him in after the repeated 3 and outs in the 2nd half? Russell, at the least, always seems to energize the offense and the crowd. I have no idea what the hell is up with JV. Nick sort of talked about it in his radio show, and it was somewhat optimistic so I figured he would try to get JV some carries tonight. That didn't happen, he only got one carry and by the time he got the ball there were already 3 defenders in the backfield. I think we have to find a way to get JV involved again because he can make big plays happen and I think he is the most talented RB on the roster. Tonight, all of our troubles can be traced back to the o-line, no push up front for the running game, and inconsistent pass protection. But even when MR had time to throw he didn't do much, especially in the 2nd half.
Why Marcus and not Ja Marcus? read what TE wrote about work ethic. or read what I posted several weeks ago about work ethic and russell. some moron called me out on it saying my sources were screwed. but it's true if you watch him in practice it shows. that's why. As far as JV is concerned? I think Saban knows the type runner he is and he needs a better O line. AND he maybe be down on his own confidence level. he put him in briefly this game ( didnt he? ) I think JV will play again soon and will find some holes agian. IMO I think he and X carter or he and Green should return kickoffs but I dont know how good his catching is. I think he'd be awesome with a few kick off return blockers out front. JMO
