The determination in that game was that the extra point would not have mattered in any possible case, so they don't bother. If KY could have tied or won with a PAT, or if UF could have won with a return, they have to run the PAT.

Auburn would have needed the PAT to win, so they would have allowed them to take the try.

Les, my friend, you have some onions.

Another classic. Flynn played his best game since Virginia Tech. Defense played good enough. After the last 3 games I think I need a week off.

That's because Kentucky was still down by 8 points after the touchdown. If the touchdown would have brought them to within one point, Kentucky would have been allowed to kick the extra point and take the game into overtime. If the touchdown had tied the game, Kentucky would have been allowed to kick the extra point for the win. Otherwise there's no need for an extra point. This is "football 101".

It seems like the team was starting to get into rthym in the third quarter, and playing with a better energy level. Not sure whether it was the hen or egg, but with each successful pass, the confidence started to build. You can literally feel that in the offense in the fourth quarter. Also , it was great to see that Doucet is back! He has a lot to do with the win in addition to Byrd who had a great game.

They did look more aggressive with the plays.

Just got back from the game. Sat amid a lot of Auburn fans. The defense as a whole did well. Auburn could only sustain two drives that resulted in TDs. Pass defense could have been a lot better. LSU dominated the game in the second half just as they did against Florida.

LaFell needs to be delegated to backup. That last botched pass reception was the last straw.

Miles was very lucky Byrd caught that pass because if he had not time would have likely run out. Miles should have called his last time out with about 20 seconds left.

Can you run a clock out on a 2 point effort?

I'll answer my own question. No. A two point conversion is an untimed play. No time is run off the clock.

What I meant was, we came out in 5 wide receiver sets most of the 4th quarter and when we didn't, it was play action or bootleg. It's this wide open offense that will eventually spread out the defense thereby making the run even more effective. It's like Crowton threw out the game plan half way through the 3rd quarter and said, "Time to see what we've got". It was great to see.

I didn't notice all that while at the game; but I had felt that Crowton had to dig deeper down in the playbook and go all out aggressively in the second half.
