  9. I saw this exchange on another forum and thought it was the best counter to what seems to be the most common "Matt Flynn or else" comments made here (or elsewhere).

Can't talk about this game w/o talking about the QB rotation, so here---we---geaux:

    So is Perrilloux.

Perrilloux has accounted for more scores than Flynn, and has not just played after Flynn ran up big scores.

The OL is at least as dominant as it was last year at this time, probably much more so. It's easier for a defense to defend you if they know one of your QBs is one-dimesional and cannot run (they blitz more, etc.) And, as mentioned, Perrilloux has played a significant role in the increased offensive production.

Two of those were when he was healthy. He's not healthy now. In the one of those three when he wasn't, he was 8 for 19 for 70 yards with an interception. And, Perrilloux played a good bit in that one. And the VT game, too, for that matter.

He wasn't facing Washington, Colorado, Auburn or South Florida, either. He was facing a team that allowed 27 points to Southeastern Louisiana and 38 to Mississippi State.

True. But it could easily be argued that he WAS rattled against Tulane, which is how we fell behind in the first place.

With help from Perrilloux, who has piled up comparable stats (and more scores) despite less playing time, and from the #1 defense in the nation.

By far the best argument. And sufficient to overcome the weakness in all of your others...for now.

All I want is to have the best quarterback on the field. By all outward appearances over the past three games, that is Perrilloux. But, if the coaches have a different opinion, obviously they're informed enough and expert enough to know best.

However, they (Crowton excluded) have made personnel choices in the past that were seriously questioned by outside observers and, after costing us losses, have been reversed. Examples from last year include Broussard and Vincent at running back and Chevis Jackson returning punts.
  10. Goodness, Tejas, who are you debating with? You want to see RP start. We all get that. :)
