1. I'm really liking the 11PM track. Heading to Corpus keeps the brunt of it out of my neighborhood and out of LA also.

If the track kept going further south, I really wouldn't mind that either.
  2. Does the announcement come today on where the game will be played???

  3. The projected path is definitely looking good, but there sure is nothing pretty about the satellite imagery! Thankfully it's headed west!

  4. That pressure keeps falling, and honestly, there is very little sense of urgency about this in Texas. I just look at Houston Chronicle.com, and there was barely a mention of the impending storm.

So, I checked Galveston's online news, and they are saying that they're discouraging evacuations because they predict it's going far south of Galveston. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Ike becomes a major hurricane again, wouldn't Houston/Galveston still be in the dreaded northeastern quadrant?
  5. Maybe they are trying to create a Katrina situation so that the media will come down on them too.

  7. Yes, Houston/Galveston would be in for some major storms and flooding.

I had a call yesterday with High Level employee at the City of McAllen, TX, and they are in MAJOR preperation as they were planning on evacuations/disaster plans, etc.... So Texas IS taking this serious! I have family that lives in Houston and the city is in a wait and see mode. Houston has some scars from how they reacted to Rita and it missed the area so I don't think they want to over-react....
