Well, looks like ClaraDawg and Coach Croom may be on the same page after all: From the August 10, 2007 online edition of the Memphis, TN Commercial Appeal: The link: http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/football/article/0,1426,MCA_478_5667174,00.html
Yep, this year croom has the intentions of adding a new wrinkle to his arsenal. The two main plays he will try to implement this year are highly inventive and should be difficult for the teams to defend. The problem is getting his players to understand and buy into what he is trying to get them to do. He would not go in depth about the design of these two plays but had no problem giving their names. So Dawg fans, get ready to hear a lot about these two plays during the 2007 season...... I give you, "the toss sweep" and "the bubble screen." I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't wait to see these plays put in motion by the Dawgs! That Sylvester croom is always coming up with new stuff that will fool em!
With the down-line pursuit and closing speed of our defense.........stirke up the band, I can hear Chinese Bandits playing now. :thumb:
Over pursuit........but we're disciplined and our DE will trail the play to the far side- not Croomed Coached. :thumb:
CD, I for one appreciate the fact that you have stopped the "flaming posts"...and started making logical posts concerning your team...and ours. You will find that if you stick around, you will enjoy your time on Tigerforums, and make many great new aquaintances. That said, I would like you to personally stick around AFTER the LSU-MSU game...REGARDLESS of what takes place in that game. Should the dawgs pull the upset...so be it. We can take a little good natured ribbing. If the Tigers do as expected...you may have to take a little ribbing yourself...deserved IMHO because of the way you introduced yourself to the forum. But you will still be welcome here, and we enjoy the company of rival posters. Try to get a few other dawg fans over here before the game...to liven up the discussion.:thumb:
Feeling is mutual. I did try to get some "Dawgs" to come over to this Forum, but at this point to no avail. Do plan to visit this site after the game, win or lose. I actually have been a fan of the "Tigers" for a long time, except when the "Dawgs" are involved, and have been to several MSU/LSU games in Baton Rogue over the years, and still remeber the wonderful years of the "Chinese Bandits", the "Gold" team, etc., and Billy Cannon's punt return against the Rebels to win the famous game. My brother and I were listening to that game on the radio in our little country town in Mississippi, and when Billy returned the punt, the noise was so loud that the LSU announcers were drowned out, but we still knew that he had scored to beat our arch enemy and it was wonderful. In fact, my parents took my brother and I to an LSU game in Baton Rougue back in the 1950s, and I still remeber the experience to this day. Your game day experience has always been great! Go Dawgs! Who said they're aggressive? They're actually very nice people who just like to have "fun" with other players, especially quarterbacks...:hihi:
I'll go 38-6 with a 21-3 halftime score. I think Miss St will be much better but this LSU team is possibly the greatest in the history of college football (starting the ESPN hype really early). Crowton's O will take advantage of getting the ball to playmakers in space but the first pass of the game (either on 1st or 2nd down) will fake a short pass to EarlyD and go deep to the other starting WR (Lafell or whoever) for a quick 6. They need to give the illusion that the WR's can stretch the field to open up all of those short, quick-hitting passes.
