No doubt, but so is Rolle, Martin and Mason. Martin plays for his offense. I think Johnson needs to play for his offense, as well. I have no clue why Mason sees the floor.

Will someone please teach Rolle how to defend the high screen?

Oh man, have you seen how well Johnson works through the high screen? When he is screened, he gets so close to the defender allowing his teammate to easily get by. As thin as he is, it's as if there is only one player (screener + CJ) for his teammate to get by.

That sounds like poor coaching... how else do you explain undisciplined play? Brady's disgruntled every game, but I get the feeling he is smashing his head against a brick wall. Can't be good for his health...

Whatever the case, what we are doing isn't working. I'll be happy if we make it to the NIT this year.

Ya'll keep harping on Brady and coaching but he has assistants too. Don't you think THEY would be working on these defenciencies also? You can't put all of the blame on his shoulders. This team has no real leadership on the floor. Baby has chosen to play outside of his position to the seemingly blessing of the coaching staff. I think the off guard and forward rotations show they are trying to find SOMEONE to get it rolling but I think the turmoil that has caused is pushing the jel from this team. No one plays inspired....or together for that matter. Glen would have been better off going to the NBA last season. His stock drop through the floor this one.

Until we get consistant guard play (and that could be achieved by more PT for Voogd) and a decent inside shot blocker on defense to complement Glen we won't do much more this season.

I am amazed at how many people are asking for more playing time for voogd. Yes, he had some good moments last night but he plays scared and wants to immediately pass the ball as soon as he gets over half court. He does not dribble well( I could pick his pocket) and he throws the ball in the stands at least one time a game. I know he is the purest point guard we have , but that doesn't mean he should start over martin or play more than mason. He is small, but not quick or fast so what intagibles does he have? Good Passer? throws the ball away alot, Good dribbler? he can not dribble past or crossover anyone in the Nation, Good shooter? needs to be wind open to get off his shot. PLEASE STOP ASKING FOR MORE VOOGD PT. We are in this predicament because Tac never worked, :po: Brady ignored the fact that we needed a PG:dis: , and the best PG in La (DJ Augustin went to texas):bncry: . This team was good enough to beat A&M w/o a true point guard, so somewhere along the way Brady has lost this team and He makes good money, the entire coaching staff is too blame for how this team is fundamentally. They couldnt break the press, because they did not have a good press break play. Big Baby, temple and Taz are our most consistent players but teams are taking away Big Baby, so our offense looks like a high school team. the fact that we are going to go back to the ncaa tournament is ridiculous! :cuss:

I have to disagree with you Draino...PT will get any player better. I don't think Voogd is the greatest but with more experience he could be good. He has the talent but it is raw, unrefined (cliches I know) but it is there. Besides...we have no other options right now.

Voogd is quick and can pass the ball better than most on our team. I think he'll eventually make our offense better even if he doesn't become a major scoring threat.

voogd is showing improvement and confidence from pt will make him much better, but to be more than serviceable he must change his shooting technique--that shotput will get him nowhere.

this team has huge problems. we are clearly seeing a snowball effect, and i guess i cant blame them. they played hard most of the game, though. im hopeful that theyll come out energized next game.

this team seems the opposite of most brady teams in many ways and i dont know what to make of it. poor rebounding, relatively poor D, poor press break (atleast this game). these are usually his strong points. either its the personnel and/or recent focus on offense has taken away from these facets.

id like to see more lineups with glen, tas, johnson, temple and voogd (positions 5-1). tas can handle most 4 matchups and cjb like to double anyway. temple at 2 but have him drive tons, he's important to have out on breaks. johnson can get good matchups away from the goal and defend off the ball. bring in lazare and martin to replace johnson and temple/voogd once lsu is down a lot late.

I like that line up. You're right, Temple needs to drive more. I have no idea why Mason gets so many minutes. He's like Tack without the defense.
