I thought Voogd played quite well, i've seen him play a lot worse against SEC competition I tell you that. We are desperately needing more from Martin and/or Mason...neither is consistent enough to be relied on as a 3rd scorer. There is no flow to the offense, everyone stands still and passes around the peremiter, every once in a while feeding big Baby (often being double teamed) On defense there is good effort and at times tonight we looked great on defense, but other teams enjoy huge nights against us from behind the arc, couple that with our own lack of 3 point firepower and you will see why we are so often down big. And finally, defensive rebounding was atrocious tonight. So many of their threes came off of second opportunities, usually a long rebound that nobody from LSU had the ability to get to. Second chance buckets killed us tonight. Lazarre and Magnum need to be more active on the boards for this team to come anywhere close to last season's achievements.
I didn't notice Magnum play tonight, is there anything wrong with him? ...besides his play sometimes.
i think it's become really clear that the tigers #5 preseason ranking was wishful thinking. this team lost a lot with the exit of d mitch and tyrus and didn't get much in the form of new players. the tigers stink against the zone, baby is a great player but he can't carry a team by himself and everyone's else is a role player that can't shoot over a zone. let's hope this team can get into the tourney and get hot and win a few. getting to the sweet 16 this year would be a miraculous end. i'm beginning to feel like brady's sweet 16 and final 4 years were the exception and not the norm.
I hate to say this...but I have given up on this team...I will not abandon them...I will go to the remanider of the games...but my expectations have been shot...unless we get a guard who can shoot FAST....hello NIT
