The refs had a really bad night in that Portland/Houston game. A bunch of really bad calls. The worst that probably cost the Rockets the game with the foul call on Howard.
There were plenty of bullshit calls that went Houston's way before hand. Say the Howard foul that got rid of Lopez? More than one bullshit call to get LMA out of the game. Houston got lucky it was that close. By the way, Howard causing the loss..... so bittersweet.
I will admit you said rough night for the refs but when you say one cost the game for the Rockets it has an implication. What cost the Rockets the game? Howard's inability to make free throws and McHales inability to put a good lineup out there without Howard (or at least take Howard out before he bricks 4 in a row)
that process has been long in the making we're about midway through his underwhelming legacy some players take their talent to the next level via hard work, others are afraid to achieve that level
yeah it was in the context of looking at one particular call (which was the most critical bad call based on when it happened) but the calls that preceeded it were horrendous and mostly in favor of Houston
