It seems to me that, if he were going to announce that he was going to coach the Dolphins, this would be the best scenario. He has left Baton Rouge for Florida, and he can pretty much go straight to Miami on the night of January 1st. Also, some Dolphins fan on a Dolphins board is claiming insider info that it is a done deal. Of course, that is probably nonsense.
If I had to guess, I am going to go with him staying at LSU. I would think that the Dolphins would want to make the announcement. Since they aren't, I am going 51-49% odds that Saban stays. I am not the most optimistic person by nature, either, FWIW.
Well the team should have arrived in Orlando so they know. Saban/Family knows. Jimmy Sexton knows. Hiuzenga and Jones know. Skip and possibly the board knows. But they will remain tight lipped until 6PM. Maybe we can get vid of the Tigers deplaning...see if they are smiling or frowning.
the question is would he want to tell the whole team in person that he is staying? otherwise all the signs mean he is gone. he couldnt announce in br that he's leaving because the team wasn't there. he waited to do it in orlando because its the first chance he's had to tell the team. faces on players getting off plane wont mean much because the whole team isnt on the plane, they'll meet later in hotel i guess. 80-20 he's gone
I agree. He wanted to tell the players face-to-face that he was leaving before he announced it publicly. He's also in WH neighborhood so an announcement from Orlando the he will be the next Dolphins coach would be fitting.
