Had T.O been hurt and the Eagles had stuck with him, and Owens would have then asked for the farm, THEN i wouldn't be for him... I just think it is a little nieve to come in after such a long layoff at a top program and expect to be #1 like it is no layoff at all... He has the talent to play... He just needs to get the kinks out... To me, it would be more prideful to go out there, bust rear, and move up to #3-#4 than it would be to run off to Rhode Island State University and set receiving records there
Well I guess its his fault he got hurt. Trust me when he was healthy LSU was getting something in return. Even if it was just playing on the squad team, LSU got something from him. I'm sure he busted his ass. In fact I know he did cause I saw him at the spring game and he looked good. Its not easy coming back from an injury like that.......
I guess in a wierd sort of way you can equate that to someone getting "free" services on this board and the rest of us getting very little in return (except for the RP blowup doll diaries):hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I am wondering to myself about looking 2 years into the future and R P is in the same situation or for that matter he got hurt and is looking at sitting the bench his whole career if you would feel the same way. And for you to say that he didnt earn his LSU money ( Scholarship ) and pay it back I SAY YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. These kids bring in millions of dollars for this university and because he got hurt you dont think he paid LSU back. I love LSU but i would never ever say that someone making a decision on what is best for them in their life is not being a team player. I would say someone that trashes his team and coaches in the media is not a team player. I can tell you from life experience that their are crossroads we all hit in our life and you never know how the decisions we make change what can happen . All you can do is what you feel in your gut and hope it is the best. Amp Hill is at one of those crossroads.
Damn good post. I think as you age maybe you look at things different. I just hit one of those crossroads when I transferred to SLU from LSU because of personal reasons......I loved LSU, but had to do other things.....can't have both. I'm sure he loves LSU, but he has to do things for himself, for his future.....and its a tough decision. Saying he is not a team player is bullsh!t.
I have loved LSU my whole life. But when it came time to go to college i had a scholarship offer to pay my way through school at Northeast as a manager for the football team. I didnt have that opportunity at LSU. It does not mean i dont love LSU and enjoy pulling for them in every sport.
It's hard to criticize a man for trying to better himself. Deep teams are going to lose players. Barrington Edwards would still have been 4th string here and now he's starting for UNC. Rick Clausen would have beeen 4th string here and now he's challenging for the start at Tennessee. We shouldn't forget that we also receive transfers like Shyrone Carey, Chase Pittman, and Sammy Joeseph. Guys who found a greener pasture. Amp wasn't in the regular rotation last year and the coach let him know that he probably wouldn't be this year either. It's a career decision and probably the right one. He needs to find a school where he will get the ball. Good for him.
I'll be sure to pass on to Amp everyone's wishes for him in the future. He will really appreciate them.
