They do have two of the top RBs in the country. Patrick Cobbs is back this year along with Jamario Thomas. LSU always seems to play to their competition. Dont forget last year with Oregon St, Troy, Ole Miss, Bama, and even Vandy...all teams we should have blown out but appeared to overlook. Hopefully we will have it together from the start this year. I say LSU 63 N. Texas 28
Folks, Cobbs gained 35 yards on Texas last year. Now, we're either going to be as good or better than Texas was last year--or there are going to be some very disappointed Tiger fans. Have some confidence. It will be disappointing if we don't (or can't) score at will. Cobbs and Thomas have done NOTHING against decent to good competition. 56-6 And to add to what the other guys on here have said after such scores--Seriously.
Whatever it was... we can all collectively agree, that he won't get too much on the ldskule: :geauxtige
I'm not really into predictions. My point is that if you are gleefully anticipating a non competitive blowout then you are setting yourself up to be disappointed. NT's coach, Dickey, has solid defenses year in and year out. Don't expect a ULL type of effort from them. It'll be close for awhile then our depth and talent will take over. I'd say something along the lines of 45-10.
I say it depends on how well our 3rd string moves the ball and defends. If RP is gonna give up his red shirt, this is a good game to do it and get ready to see more action when it counts.
I heard Marcus Spears on the radio yesterday predicting a 35-3 victory. Damn, I hate that he got injured today.
Outside of the sunbelt, UNT averaged about 11 points a game... they had less than 100 rushing against 3 of the 4 (they lit up colorado but still lost)... last year they had a decent qb who could keep the defenses honest with the pass... Cobbs and Thomas are the most overated players in the country. Against real competition, they havent shown up...
