Preach on brother------------I have been saying and even posting here in favor of the air horns for MSU.:geauxtige

I would love to see some coach like Spurrier (who didn't give a rat's butt about the MSU fans) simply say

"Ref, the cowbells are distracting us" WARNING
    " " " " " " 5 YD PENALTY
    " " " " " " WARNING
    " " " " " " 15 YD PENALTY

RIGHT ON DOWN TO THE GOAL.....I WOULD START THIS THE FIRST TIME WE HAD GREAT FIELD POSTION

    wjray .-.. ..- -.- .

But that's sort of my point -- if it was another school and another type of artificial noisemaker, don't you think the rule would be enforced?

I agree with other posters that ultimately the bells didn't make much of a difference last night but what if it had been a much closer game and the outcome would have turned on a false start penalty? Crowd noise causing false starts is one thing; artificial noise causing the same thing is totally different.

A policy should be enforced. If it is not going to be enforced, then it should be done away with.

The air horn idea is a good one. However, as a twist, I think that all opposing teams fans should bring them when they travel TO MSU rather than when MSU comes to them. Give them a taste of their own medicine, in their own back yard. If Sly Croom or anyone complains, just point at the damn cowbells...

All the cowbells did was damage a lot of MSU fans hearing. They still lost 45 to 0
