I think people just want something to bitch about. If we had a more effective passing game, we'd be likely to use it more often, and people would complain that we don't pass enough. Honestly, I think that CLM was sort of snowbirding against MSU. I fully expected a relentless ground attack to warm up the running game for the UF game. But, pretty much the opposite happened. We threw early and often, almost eliminating the ground game. So perhaps, feeling more comfortable with the running game than we think, CLM wants the Gaytors to focus more on the passing attack. It wouldn't surprise me. You know how he likes to sandbag things (i.e. injuries).
I think the LSU running game can be okay if we start out passing early and often. Let the passing game set up the running game. I really think we cant go out there and try to run the ball down there throats. GEAUX TIGERS! :helmet:
this running game will come into its own ... there is so much talent its hard to get 6 guys on the field at once... it will get geauxing soon I hope... 03 the young guns broke out and JV was a hero... 06 someone step up and take control...
Our running game is fine when we play ULL, Zona, and MSU. Against bona fide D1 competition, our running game let us down. I said it would be the key against Auburn, and I was right about that. I don't think our avg. yds. per carry for the season tells the tale. We just haven't played a lot of tough teams. All that said, our O-line can gel today (I hope) and Scott or Williams get their sea legs. Good teams get better as the season goes along, and I still hope.
