Speaking of WVU, be sure to check them out vs Pitt on Thanksgiving Night. I, for one, will root like hell for them to destroy Pitt and S. Fla. next week.
I want one of the bad teams to win the Big East to move us closer to stripping them of their automatic bid. It's not LSU's fault if they play a crappy Big East team. If West Virginia wins the conference, they may be able to keep their bid.
The only problem is that buying a ticket, shows support for your team, not buying one looks like you don't care about them. The players get fired up by the crowd, people HAVE TO buy tickets.
WVU would certainly be no cakewalk. I've had the opportunity to watch them several times this year and that is a very good and very well-coached football team. They run the spread option, ala Pope Meyer @ Utah. Sure, I'd rather play An Ohio State University, or Notre Dame, or Miami, etc. But all we can do is take care of our own business. We can't control what anyone else does.
There's still a whole lot of football left to play for everyone, so I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves.
make a sacrifice and hope that USF is in there.. one step closer to the Big East losing their automatic bid... I think 3 years without a team in the top12 bcs rankings costs them their bid...
Must average top 12 over 4 years as I understand it. I looked it up recently, and the past three years have been 1, 21, and 9 (or close)
That SHOULD be the case, but the BCS rules (according to Stewart Mandel) allow the Big Least to use future (ie newly acquired) team's rankings for their average ranking. Therefore, the conference can have Louisville's #6 ranking from last year factored into their ranking. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/stewart_mandel/11/22/mailbag/1.html
