Yep, all he did was bring them to what 3 straight bowl games, have one of the best records any coach has had at that sorry arse program, brought them to thier first New Year's bowl in forever and beat OU twice. What a horrible legacy he left there.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to USMTiger again.

Yeah, and what people FAIL to realize is even the mighty Nick Saban couldn't muster more than 9 points vs Auburn last year.

Auburn did lose their starting offensive backfield and one of their CB's, but give Auburn SOME credit will ya?! They are a ledgit top 15 team with good talent. Cox's INT woes vs GT in the first game of the season was simply the result of a new QB starting for the first time and an offense playing their first game without 3 former players who are all on NFL rosters.

OK, here are the real stats, from ESPN's play by play of the game. On first down, we ran 53% of the time. On second down, we passed 36% of the time. Are you sure you were watching LSU?

Auburn was very impressive, Cox looked very well under pressure.
He did not look like a first year QB in this game!
Iron's was incredible also, I was impressed with our ability to stop the run
    for most of the game.

I was equally impressed with our defense.

Yep, things were opened up once we got behind.
Before the 4th I'm sure it was a different story.

Am I sure I was watching?
Thats a nice thing to say, I will be less friendly next time you
    say something to that extent.

    Edit: I didn't know JR wasn't 100%

Damn, if I didn't know better, I'd swear we lost the game last night after reading some of the stuff posted here.

JR wasn't 100% as evidenced by some of his throws, but he played through it and didn't commit any costly turnovers. We're lucky the dropped TD passes didn't cost us. That has to be corrected.

Give credit to AU. They're a damn good team and Irons is The Man.

Yeah, no kidding! I guess we just have fans that are going to be forever pissed because LSU didn't hire "their" guy to be the successor to Saban.....

3 of our 5 wins have come against top-15 teams! Those games are supposed to be close! (unless you're a Texas Tech team that is only ranked as high as you are because teams ahead of you lose--and you play a schedule with the likes of Indiana State and Sam Houston State....)

Re: Les Miles is not a smart coach

As an Oklahoma State fan, I must say that is just as big a crock of crap as the title and original post in this thread. Les Miles was one of the best things to happen to that program. Not only did he do a lot with the little resources he had, he recruited well, bringing kids to Stillwater, OK, that would have never come there otherwise. He also brought a winning attitude to the team and fans.

No he didn't have perfect seasons there, but he turned the team around and accomplished things that hadn't been done in either a very long time, or EVER.

Re: Les Miles is a coach

Damit! I have to spread reputation around before giving it to the few intelligent posters on here who deserve it...

ATTENTION: If our QB can't throw the ball to WRs in stride, and our WRs can't catch even the lightly thrown balls - IT MAKES PASSING PLAYS VERY DIFFICULT. You guys are still talking about how good our WRs are - they aren't. They have potential, but there are better WRs on ever top 10 team right now. How can our playcalling be any better with this predicament?!?!

How in the the hell are dropped passes Miles fault?!?! A reflection of the coaching staff?? :dis: So penalties & turnovers were his fault as well? Then fixing them must be his doing... Saban is having problems with these same things right now, is it because he's a "phuking moron"?

Is Miles an idiot? Maybe. I don't particularly give a dam. He's a man who feeds off of emotion & I think that this is why he does some stupid things (time out at change of possession etc). I believe after he gets his first season under his belt & has a chance to feel more comfortable with his team in his home stadium - this type of thing won't be a problem. What I care about is can he win games. He's gotten a few big ones so far this season, I believe he will continue to get more through his tenure. But he atleast deserves a chance.

Will coaching cost us the Bama game? Maybe. Nobody knows the answer to that - coaching costs us a few games under Saban & plenty of them against teams far worse then this year's Bama.

Beau-77535, see other posts which call you out & pretend I went ahead and said the same thing. I look at the mark Miles put on Oklahoma St & see nothing but good things.
