1. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

    In the FWIW category...

There are a few lawyers in Mobile that have applied for license to become "legit" sports agents. They've been fairly busy the last year contacting players around the SE about representing them at the next level. I know they've been on our campus trying to strike deals with a few players...and word has it they've also been in contact with JR. One agent in the ATL area described their relationship with JR as "Reggie Bush."

I've heard this for about a year now...just this last week marking the 5th or 6th time I've heard it from a different source.

    Anyway...

I do wish we could have kept him in state...

Shoot them on sight. They're depredators like blackbirds and starlings.

Hell, is this the second time I've agreed with you?
  4. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

Next year, with Flynn at the helm, you will be the first to bash him if he is not perfect in every way.
  5. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

After reading this thread I have a few questions.

I was suprized about the Shaq comment at LSU.
I always thought he was great?
Nick Saban 0-2 vs top 10 teams on the road?
We beat Georgia in the SEC tourney then OU in the Superdome?
Maybe Georgia wasn't top 10 then?
    Superdome a home game?

    A different perspective
To me the offense has been what they said about JR, consistantly inconsistant and the reason JR hasn't been as impressive in the top SEC games is that the running game hasn't been as good as years past.
Could I be wrong? possibly but I've seen a lot of 3 and outs and stalled drives in some of these games.

The real problem at QB is that LSU has NEVER been as stacked at QB that
I know of, this is the problem we are suffering from!
  6. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

He was, but he wasn't great enough for some. We didn't do well in the NCAA tourney when he was here. Guess he didn't become superman until he got to the Lakers.

Same deal with JR. Unless he wins a championship, he won't be viewed as great by some fans.

Those are considered neutral sites. Playing UGA in the Georgia dome is like a road game, but probably not as tough as beating them between the hedges. And I know OU fans think the Superdome was a home game for us.
  7. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

Shaq was always great. I think some folks just have a real short memory. The complaints I always heard was that Dale never kept Shaq involved in games when teams tried to take him out of them. Shaq would get bottled up, defenses would start hacking him whenever he got the ball and Chris Jackson (or Vernell Singleton, Clarence Ceasar, etc.) would suddenly forget how to make an outside shot.

Eventually Shaq would foul out and game over...
  8. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

It was the same stuff, "Well, Shaq just can't win the big ones, and he has no championships..." I was at LSU when he was there, and that's what people always said.

Bump, thought we better bring this thread back from the dead again!:)
  10. Re: Here's a good encapsulation of how I feel about Jamarcus

Yep, Here's a better encapsulation about Jamarcus.

You always have a chance to win if JR is your quarterback. Even if the gameplan is f'ed up, your best runners are on the bench because they aren't seniors, the defense all the sudden can't stop anybody, and the oline as bad as they have been, plays even worse.
