Just saw on the local news, the runt's leading rusher last season, Vashon Pearson, will not be eligible for his senior season due to failure to meet NCAA eligibility requirements. That leaves Jamal "where's my gun?" Pittman to tote the mail for the rebs in '05. A weak running game just got a whole lot weaker :eek:lefire:

They'll have Alan Abrams who, IMO, is the most talented of the bunch anyway. The only problem is he's inexperienced.

Abrams is a huge talent out of Apopka and was very highly touted player out of HS. This could really be his opportunity to shine and the the carries to develop as a top-flight SEC tailback. Abrams is one of those backs that gets stronger and stonger as the game wears on. Some of his longest TD's in HS were late in games after 25-30 carries. I can't believe OM didn't use him more last year, but that's what the lack of a good OL will force you to do sometimes..... go with a slower but more experienced RB that can block better.

They are indeed thin at running back, but their bigger problem will be on the O-line. They lost 3 very good lineman and their backups are rather inexperiecned. Their offense could be in for a long season. Defensively, they will be adequate.
