Lofton needs to sit? Um, did you not notice he was 10-19 from the field with 5 threes? 29 points...Those may not have been the smartest shots in the world, but you have to look at it from the other perspective--He was hot the whole game and had 1 of those 3's went down, the crowd would have went balistic and the game would be over. He was hot and wanted to put the nail in the coffin, he just missed it.

Sit a player that has 29 points shooting better than .500 from the field and hitting perfect from the stripe??? :dis: Um, whatever you say :thumb:

I started to say something similar to him but... I believe he meant sit him at that point in the game, even if just for one possession.

Shooting a beyond nba range three with 11 seconds left on the shot clock was pretty dumb. Then he took another.

It's kinda similar to Petey's situation going for it in the Rose Bowl. Some say it was stupid while others say it was ok. If they would have gotten it, they would have ran the clock out.

It's not exactly the same and yeah, it was a stupid shot, but if you saw the USC/Kentucky game, Sparks hit a similar shot--made it and he was a God. It's only a stupid shot if you miss...He was hot and felt like he could make it. Granted it wasn't the smartest thing in the world but you cant take him out at that point.

Well I disagree. The result does not determine whether or not the decision was good.

He had a hot hand. He felt it. It's easy to say dumb shot with 11 seconds left, but fans are in an easy chair.

I look at it like this: He had the hot hand, he shot the ball...

He misses so we talk stupid a shot it was...If he makes it, we're talking about what a great, backbreaking shot it is. They won, so it really doesn't matter either way though.

Either way, I would be saying it was a stupid shot.

Yes, he had a great game. I doubt Pearl got upset at all, if any, when he took the shot. I bet he'd tell you he wanted to run more time off the clock at that point though.

End result is the kid had an outstanding game and his team got a huge victory.
